Greetings Members!
May is the month for Moms! It is the time to shower mothers with endless expressions of gratitude. Our lives today are busier than ever and while the idea of juggling work, family, kids, friends, and home is daunting, moms get it done, and get it done with love. Whether you have a mom in your life or carry that mom “super hero” quality, pause a moment and honor that spirit.
The feminine qualities in each of us – nurturing, protective and encouraging – help balance all our driven endeavors. As I recall my own mother, I remember the moments of gushing praise that at times were quite embarrassing: she felt I was always the angel, never doing anything wrong, overly confident in my questionable talents. Yes, the unconditional love from our moms is often dismissed: “it’s just mom,” after all. But, the older I’ve become, and listening to the moms in my life, I’ve come to see it differently. Can it be a voice of spirit, this seemingly misplaced certainty, prodding us to keep our highest potential alive? If moms weren’t over the top in their belief in us, would we be as strong on our own? Maybe they don’t know what is best for us, but they do know what we are capable of.
This month, pay attention to the voice in you that is your biggest fan. The one that believes that you can leap tall buildings, climb the highest mountain, and make wishes come true. Listen to those parts you habitually discount and participate in the unseen magic that time and again fills you with hope. Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t real. Watch your yoga postures soar as you stir up that mom energy to trust in your abilities. Feel it jumping up and down within you cheering you on. And thank the mom in your life, thank the mom in you that continues to believe in you, no matter the challenges. Recognize the spirit that urges you to keep going, that prompts you to follow your dreams no matter what, that helps you to remember that you are greater than what you perceive yourself to be. And that you can be all that you will to be!
“She gave me love as well as life, so whatever goodness I may bring to Earth, began with the gift of my mother’s heart.†- Robert Frost
Warmly,
