Congratulations Cynthia in your accomplishment winning both Nat’l and International Competition in Los Angeles, Feb 10th and 11th.
“I did practice much more to prepare myself, but ultimately there are only so many “head to knee” postures you can do. It became more important to practice my concentration regardless if the posture was good or bad. If I have the concentration, the posture will find me. Sure, there were some days when I felt that I wasn’t practicing hard enough, or if I missed a day that I had to come in and take three classes. But, I realized that I just was not trusting the process. When I first got to LA, and I was seeing all the other competitors practice and do so good, it was then too that I was letting my nerves get the best of me. But I knew from the repetition in doing my own practice, that I was okay and I used my jitters to serve as fuel for my own determination. Winning is still something I have not grasped as I am still the same and wake up everyday wanting to do my yoga. Yet, being called World Champion has changed my perception of worldliness. This title makes me feel united with my past as I have lived and traveled to so many places around the globe. Now, I get to be in these familiar surroundings again sharing my love of yoga.” - Cynthia Wehr, exerpts on her thoughts on winning.
