Massage
Massage is known to relieve many common conditions, such as neck pain, headaches, backaches, anxiety, depression, and high blood pressure. It releases tension in the body by increasing circulation and flexibility, and helps to flush toxins and metabolic waste from tissues, and can lead to a feeling of renewal and well-being.

Jean-Paul Amonte. “JP” moved here recently with his wife, Jennet, and their little dog, Shea, from Virginia Beach, VA. Currently enrolled at the Palmer West Chiropractic College, JP has been a massage therapist for over four years working in a variety of health care settings. He uses numerous bodywork techniques including Cayce/Reilly, Swedish, reflexology, neuromuscular/myofascial, positional release, Jin Shin Do, Shiatsu, Reiki (level 2), Cranial-Sacral, and chair massage. “My approach to massage has always been to provide client-centered therapy to address the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. Back in 2002, I received my bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University in Psychology & Biology, and in 2006, I continued my education in hypnotherapy and received my certification later that year.”
What makes JP even more special is his familiarity with Bikram Yoga. “What really brings me here to BYSJ is my experience with yoga. I have been practicing Hatha yoga for six years, but it was a year and a half ago that I fell in love with Bikram. In Virginia Beach, I was a member of a hot yoga studio that integrated many Bikram postures and methods. I recommended yoga for all of my clients. By integrating yoga, massage, hypnotherapy, and eventually chiropractic medicine, I am hoping to create a truly holistic approach to healing and wellness.” Look for JP at the studio offering chair massages ($1 per minute) before and after classes. Welcome JP!
